from those traveling under Christ
Ambassador: David Brugger
Mission Field: Oregon
David Brugger reported that Caesar's officers detained him on March 25, 1998, while he was traveling South on I-5 North of Salem, Oregon.
When asked to identify himself, David said, "I am David Brugger, an ambassador for Jesus Christ." Then he showed his credentials in the form of an Embassy of Heaven passport, issued under the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven.
David said he had no "date" of birth, only a "day" of birth. When the officer asked him what "day" he was born, David said any information he could offer about his "day" of birth would be hearsay evidence at best. Then David pointed to his passport and said he had been born again in 1991.
The officer asked David to put his hands behind his back to be cuffed. David would not voluntarily do so, so the officer repeated his command and reached for his mace can. David said, "Whether you spray me with that stuff or not, if my hands end up behind my back, you are going to have to do it." The officer decided not to cuff David.
Then the officer asked if he could see inside David's motor home. David confirmed that the curtain was partially open and said, "Yes, you can see inside." The officer was not satisfied and said, "Would you open the door for me, please?" David refused saying, "There is no telling what you might do in there."
The
officer asked, "Who is in your camper?" David told him several times
no one was in there, but the officer would not believe him. Finally David said,
"If you happen to find somebody in there, it is going to be Jesus or
God."
The officer wanted to know what denomination David was. "I'm not really any denomination. I am basically just a child of God, commonly referred to as a 'Christian.'"
"I call myself a Christian, too," admitted the officer.
"Many people call themselves Christians but know little or nothing about the law pertaining to such things."
"What law do you mean?" asked the officer.
"Law is what always has been and always will be. It does not change. Only statutes and other legal things get jostled around and changed at random by men."
Then David invited the officer to study with him. They spent at least an hour discussing jurisdiction, status, property, licensing and other Kingdom issues.
By this time, there were three squad cars at the scene. David was informed that his driver license was suspended and that he had a warrant for his arrest in Washington County. He was also told that he could not park his vehicle there and if he drove away, he would be cited. David suggested that they just give him a citation, but they declined. Finally, the matter was settled when David gave them the Embassy's phone number to have him picked up. The police drove away without issuing any citations or towing the motor home.
